Shean Lodge Fishery has been owned by the same family since the 1940s. Still used today by the many members of the family, the lodge, 2 beats and lake are available to avid anglers during the fishing season or anyone who wants to get away from it all at any other time of year.

Thanks to its National Park status and the high level of care given to the immediate area, catch records have remained consistent over the years, which are confirmed by our own records that date back to the start of our ownership in the 1940s. This is in contrast to many other areas that are experiencing a marked and worrying reduction in salmon and other fish stocks.

The fishing is closely controlled and although bag limits exist during the season, we actively encourage all anglers to return as many fish as possible in order to safeguard the welfare of the fish for years to come.

Indeed the local Gillies are an invaluable source of information on where to find the best fish and because the river comprises of over forty pools of varying depths, you will be glad of their assistance and vast expertise.

The abundance of quality fishing combined with the truly breathtaking setting of Ballycroy National Park, the close management of the fish stocks and the local expertise of the Gillies, make Shean Lodge Fishery a spectacular fishing destination, which the owners look forward to sharing with the angling community for many years to come.

If you are interested in booking a fishing holiday, then please review our Fishing Information page, which highlights all the relevant details of how to make a booking. However, as there is limited availability in an already short season, we would strongly suggest making bookings well in advance of your desired dates to avoid disappointment.

We look forward to hosting your next fishing trip.
